Future-oriented, with history

The Wiener Lokalbahnen AG (WLB) was founded in 1888. The concession for the local railroad of “Vienna – Wiener Neudorf” (including continuation routes) were transferred to the “Actiengesellschaft der Wiener Localbahnen” from the “New Viennesse Tramway Society (NWT)”.
Back then the wagon in Baden were still pulled by horses, while the route between Vienna and Wiener Neudorf steam-driven trains were in use. In 1894, the horse tramway in Baden was one of the first to be electrified and in 1907 the twin track railroad system between Vienna and Baden was permanently established.
Today Wiener Lokalbahnen AG is the most modern, privet railway business, with a high level of competence in personal and good traffic in the area of south Vienna to Baden.
Integrated into the traffic group “Ost-Region”, they use more then 30.000 people daily, and travel along the 30,4 kilometer long route from Baden to Vienna and vice-versa.
